APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: High school diploma; (or GED Certificate, plus 12 semester hours, with a "C" average, from an accredited college or university).
CITIZENSHIP: Must be a U. S. Citizen at the time of application. (Must be able to read and write the English Language).
AGE: 20 – 44 years of age; (Must be 20 years of age and not be 45 years of age by the date of your assigned entry-level test/civil service examination (January 9-13 and 17-18, 2023).
LICENSE: Must present a valid and current driver's license and possess an acceptable driving record.
ADDITIONAL EXAM POINTS: Additional points up to a maximum of five (5) cumulative points shall be added to a passing exam score as follows:
CADETS: Two (2) points for graduates of the Fort Worth Police Department's Cadet Program.
EDUCATION: Five (5) points for Bachelor's degree (or higher). Education will be verified by Human Resources after the exam.
VETERAN: Five (5) points for military veteran candidates with Honorable Discharge per DD-214. In order to receive veteran points, you must email your DD214 showing character of service (Member 4 or equivalent) to CCCTesting@fortworthtexas.gov no later than 9:00 a.m., Sunday, January 8, 2023. Please include your name and best contact number in the email. DD214s will not be accepted on the day of the examination.

SPECIAL NOTE:
To be selected for a Police Academy Training Class, applicants must successfully pass a written or electronic exam, a physical assessment test, a polygraph examination, an interview board, a medical examination, a psychological examination and an extensive background check.
Following the exam, if you receive a passing score, your name will be added to the Police Trainee Program eligibility list and may remain on the list for one year or until the list is exhausted, whichever comes first.

PLEASE BE ADVISED: The Civil Service Police Trainee exam will be a live in-person exam. Qualified applicants will be required to report in person on their assigned date and time. During this testing cycle, each qualified applicant can take the Police Trainee exam once.

Those selected for employment will be required to pass Pre-Employment checks depending on the position requirements. Responsibilities
Handle routine and emergency calls for service, and respond to certain types of alarms. Work at strategic stationary posts, in order to control access and provide public safety or other assistance to the public. Provide for the safety of persons and property at University special events and can be called upon to assist with transportation, booking, and searching of prisoners. Make written reports and issue certain types of citations as necessary. Report security violations or hazardous conditions, and are expected to take action to correct situations or to ensure that correction takes place. Shift work, including night and weekend assignments, is required.
Required Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age at time of appointment, and must possess a valid California driver's license. Must have excellent communication skills and good judgment under pressure. Applicants may be required to provide proof they have a legal right to work permanently in the United States.
HOURS: Work hours and days off are subject to change based upon SPO program operational needs and at the discretion of the SPO program manager based upon department needs. It is important to maintain a flexible work schedule in order to ensure the SPO program can meet its obligations and accomplish its mission.
